D. A. McGee Core of Texas welcomes you to my family history website, which was named gone2texas.us because both sides of my family ended up in Texas. My family surnames include Allen, Barton, Gardner, Harris, McGee, Noble, Dameron, Fields, Gary, Love, Pullin, Rice, and Reed. For my husband's family, the surnames include Core, Burton, Bennett, Bankston, Graziano, Corbin, Parker, Tate, and Willie mainly from Tangipahoa and St. Tammany Parishes in Louisiana.

The quest to find my ancestors began in 2001 and included over 10,000 names which was lost after my hard drive crashed.  In 2007 the process to rebuild my database started again using a Legacy database but ceased after I was involved in a car wreck. In 2009 the effort was started yet again then the website was hacked and completed deleted February 2010. I had to relearn how to build the website again and documented the changes in a Web Log.
